Tableside With Rob McKittrick
meet great people and hot girls: it’s a great outlet to be outgoing and single...I have fond reflections of the whole thing. I got laid quite a bit, met a lot of cool people, and loved my co-workers.

It’s a communal experience that all servers feel: that table that lets you know, “Hey, I’m a server." You’re immediately on the same wave length. I’ve survived the dinner rush, the asshole table, and the insane kitchen. You can relax a little with them.

Did you ever have a particularly horrid table?
My most profound memory was not my table, but was one of my friend’s, Jessica. It was late in the lunch shift, and the rest of us were just watching this whole scene unfold. Jessica was waiting on a woman and her two b—tard children. These people were so mean and rude, they made Jessica cry. Then they sent their food back. It was actually the only time I effed with the

food. The kitchen purposely dropped it on the floor, and I tea-bagged it. That’s how awful those people were. And that’s why you should never mess with the people preparing your food.

What was the most difficult part of Waiting?
Seeing it through. It took seven years. The roller-coaster, constant ups and downs, false starts, and delays were challenging to say the least.

What was the most surprising thing about the movie?
One of the great moments was the first screening. The audience reaction was way off the charts. It played like gang-busters and it was a thrill hearing the audience reaction and connection with the characters and scenes.

Will there be any deleted scenes added to the DVD?
Not really. There will be extra scenes in the menu, but I am saving a few deleted scenes for later… Perhaps a director’s cut.

  Do you miss waiting tables?
Not really. I enjoyed it while I did it. I was there for 6 years. It was a good experience and the perfect job. It wasn’t my career, but I had fun, made money, and got laid. I don’t miss it, but I cherish that time and I have fond memories of it.

When will the DVD be released?
Tuesday, February 7, 2006.

In honor (I use that word loosely – like Heidi Fleiss loose) of Hollywood (ahem...), I gave Rob his shot at the questions from Inside the Actor’s Studio, which are originally from a French Series called Bouillon de Culture and created by host Bernard Pivot.

What is your favorite word? Wiley

What is your least favorite word? Ummm, because I say it too much.

What turns you on? Large breasts

What turns you off?
Writing – because it is so hard. Some of the best moments in my life were the victory laps around my apartment when I came up with the right phrase.

What’s your favorite curse word? F**K. It is so flexible.

What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? A rock star, because being Bon Jovi would be really effing cool.

What profession would you not like to participate in?
Waste Management (Editor’s note: isn’t that the definition of waiting tables?)

If heaven exists, what you like to hear God say at the Pearly Gates? Hi there. I don’t exist. Here’s your ticket to nothingness.
